Today we went back to 1776 in Williamsburg, Virginia. We visited the courthouse and heard three matters. A fellow had not attended church for 4 weeks but defended himself saying he was attending the Presbyterian Church instead of the Episcopalian Church. A dispute between a tavern owner and a person from South Carolina about payment was next. He was offering paper money from South Carolina and she would not accept this. The third matter was a person complaining that the person responsible for the upkeep of the roads was not performing his duties properly. The complainant ended up being given the job instead.
We also checked out the Capitol, Governors’ House and the Great Hopes Plantation. In the Coffee House we enjoyed some hot chocolate and a chat.
A big excitement of the day was meeting up with Cristin again.
